Indoor & Outdoor Cushions

All Tropique cushions are designed and manufactured in Australia to a commercial standard, suitable for residential, hospitality, marine and high-use environments.

We work with leading indoor–outdoor performance fabrics selected for their durability, comfort and longevity. Our outdoor cushions are water, stain and mould resistant, UV stable, and designed to perform beautifully in harsh Australian conditions.

Equally, they transition seamlessly indoors, bringing texture, colour and ease to living spaces.

Our Approach

Tropique is a boutique manufacturer. Each piece is cut and made to order or produced in considered quantities, with an emphasis on quality materials, skilled workmanship and timeless design.

As with all soft furnishings, slight variations can occur. These are not faults, but part of the nature of upholstered products.

Cushion Sizes

Our cushions are cut to industry standard dimensions:

60cm x 60cm Square
50cm x 50cm Square
30cm x 50cm Lumbar
65cm x 40cm Euro Lumbar

Important note on sizing:
Covers are cut to size prior to sewing. Once constructed and filled, cushions will naturally sit slightly smaller due to seams, inserts and fabric tension.

For example, a 50cm cushion cover is cut to 50cm, however may measure approximately 48cm externally when filled. This is standard across the upholstery industry and ensures a full, tailored finish.

If you prefer a specific finished size or a looser fit, we recommend discussing custom sizing with us prior to purchase.

Cushion Inserts

We offer a selection of high-quality inserts:

Outdoor inserts: recycled PET fibres, suitable for indoor–outdoor use
Indoor inserts: feather options available for a softer, more relaxed aesthetic

Insert choice will influence the final look and firmness of your cushion.

Zippers & Finishing

All Tropique cushions are fitted with industry standard zippers, positioned discreetly on the underside of the cover.

We have standardised on white zippers across most collections. This is a considered manufacturing decision based on consistency, availability and durability across a wide range of fabrics.

Zippers are not intended to be visible during normal use and are not considered a feature element of the design.

Please note:

Zipper colour is not considered a fault
Variation in zipper colour across collections may occur
Custom zipper colours or stitching can be arranged upon request

A $50 per cushion customisation fee applies for zipper colour changes or special finishing requests.

Product Care & Handling

When unpacking your cushions, we recommend taking care not to use sharp objects such as scissors or knives, as these can inadvertently damage the fabric or inserts.

Outdoor cushions are designed for durability, however we recommend storing or covering during prolonged periods of heavy rain to maintain their longevity.

Custom Orders

We offer custom sizing, fabrics and finishes across our range.

As a bespoke service, custom and made-to-order items are produced specifically for you and cannot be returned or exchanged.
